Igloo 9 is our ski house in the Tahoe-Donner community in the town of Truckee, CA, close to Lake Tahoe and Reno, NV. It's close to many major ski resorts including Northstar at Tahoe, Squaw Valley, SugarBowl and Alpine Meadows to name a few.
The Name
Where did the name "Igloo 9" and "Igloo Lounge" come from, you ask? Well the story goes something like this: The original Igloo Lounge was the first ski house that the group rented. There was so much snow that year that they dug a cave and dreamed about serving martinis in it! Well, the cave never got big enough to become a bar, but the name stuck. This is the 9th year of renting a ski house, so it's now called Igloo 9.

Igloo Lounge residents can also log in and use this site to coordinate ski house activities, schedule visits, and communicate amongst eachother. Plus, we'll be posting pictures from the ski house all winter long, so be sure to check back frequently!
